“If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.” -Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson (and many others) warned us of crucial issues that may rear their heads under the specific type of Government that he had a great part in creating. We take it so lightly. It's unimportant and outdated to most of us, especially at the higher offices of government. Shit rolls downhill and we're the recipients of the retardation and bastardization of these words of warning. For God's sake, it's the fucking CONSTITUTION! There is an unlimited power resource that we are ignoring; US!
When we finally realize our destiny that our Bill Of Rights expounds upon, will it be too late? Our dollar and economic power has been systematically pillaged right out from under us and we have NO ONE to blame but ourselves. We've "Walmarted" ourselves in this corner position out of our own personal lack of participation in reasoning for ourselves. We care about trees, whales, rivers, "Nation-Building" and Starbucks. These are the devices we proudly brandish to outside observers as we try to make it look like we care about something, when we really don't. We wield them to onlookers in the hope that our concern for the world is noticed and appreciated. Face it, we only care about what the media tells us to care about. As long as we're current on "True Blood" episodes, we don't feel "Lost". If the T.V. says it, we do it. Our lives and minds are uploaded with shit that DOESN'T fucking matter. What matters right now in this country is US.
If we think our government needs to take care of us and protect us from ourselves, I guess we deserve what's coming but I'm personally convinced that enough of us will care and act in time to change our future. Yes, I said "CHANGE" our future. It's on a course that is bleak and fundamentally against everything it was set up to be. It's in our hands and always has been. When did we lose sight of that?
